Immigration Fees Rise Again — ILR Now Costs 3,029 Pounds
22 Oct 2025
The Home Office has implemented another round of immigration fee increases, affecting ILR and citizenship applications.
Updated Fee Summary
Settlement (ILR):
- Standard ILR application: 3,029 pounds per person
- Priority processing (5 working days): 3,529 pounds
- Super priority (24 hours): 4,029 pounds
British Citizenship:
- Naturalisation (adult): 1,605 pounds (plus 130 pounds ceremony fee = 1,735 pounds total)
Other Changes:
- Immigration Skills Charge increased by 32% (effective December 2025)
- Certificate of Sponsorship fee more than doubled to 525 pounds
- A further 6.5% increase on some fees is expected later in 2026
What This Means For You
If you are planning to apply for ILR or citizenship, budgeting for fees is important. For a family of four applying for ILR, the cost is now over 12,000 pounds — before legal fees or the Immigration Health Surcharge.
The IHS remains at 1,035 pounds per year per applicant for visa extensions (though ILR applicants are exempt from the IHS).
We recommend checking the latest fees on GOV.UK before submitting your application, as fees can change at short notice.
